 This project introduces students (ages 9–10) ( SDG Goal 4 Quality Education) to the diverse cultural traditions of China and France by exploring key national celebrations such as Chinese Chūnjié ‘春节’ (Lunar New Year) and French ‘Fête du Citron’ (Lemon festival).

1. Grace School student will explore national celebrations such as Chinese Chūnjié ‘春节’ (Lunar New Year) and French ‘Fête du Citron’ (Lemon festival). Student narrate stories on how the traditional Chinese ‘Chūnjié’ Festival and the French Fête du Citron Festival came to be. Facts about other festivals in China and France to enhance global awareness. Grace School students Learn basic vocabulary for festive periods. Observe the similarities and differences in ways of gesticulating while greeting in China and France.

 



 

 
 
2. Cultural Symbols; Grace School students Promote cultural awareness through Art and Craft by creating posters showing various food and traditional attire used during the festivals. Making Chinese and French flag-themed crafts like the Chinese paper lanterns, the French Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, and organizing the Citrus drawing contest.




 

 

 





4. Festival Discovery Day; Grace School students will celebrate international language day set aside to re-enact the Chinese ‘Chūnjié’ Festival and the French Fête du Citron Festival, to experience foreign customs and practices through food, dance, songs, and costumes. The event includes a gathering of students from some schools in Lagos State, in presentations, dancing and singing in Chinese and French languages. 

 
















 

5. Virtual Exchange with partner school; Grace school Students in collaboration with students of Shanghai Jincai International School (JCID), China, would discuss the importance of learning about different cultural practices, as well as similarities and differences. They will share celebration, artwork and short videos with a partner school abroad as part of Intercultural communication.
